AVault Review©: 4X4 EVO 2 has splendid graphics and sound effects, with a wide set of vehicles and tuning capabilities and cleverly-designed racing settings. The novel adventure missions and free roam mode are also a real plus. Yet deficiencies in gameplay, artificial intelligence, collision implementation, and even music prevents this title from being the spectacular release that it should have been. Moreover, its improvements over the original 4X4 Evolution could have been a lot more significant. Given the sparse state of recent off-road racing offerings, I would recommend giving this one a spin, and if you are a fan of this sub-genre you will probably be able to overlook its failings. - Bob Mandel
