AVault Review (3.0/5)©: Like all Europa Universalis-based titles, Crusader Kings is more historical undertaking than strategic video game, complete with names, dates and events. There are many fans of the series that will love it and give it a permanent home on their hard drives, extolling its virtues the whole day long. I have to say that I have enjoyed Crusader Kings a far sight more than I did its sister release, Victoria, but I still wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who doesn’t have a lot of patience and an almost fetishistic attitude toward history. Crusader Kings is a tour de force of chronometric detail and almost bottomless options, but the glaring lack of a tutorial, criminally sparse documentation, paucity of things you can directly control and frequent crashes to the desktop doesn’t make playing it any more fun for the uninitiated. If you’ve already been indoctrinated into the detail-heavy world of Europa Universalis, however, you’ll be right at home with Crusader Kings.
