AVault Review (4.0/5) ^©: For those considering entering the world of war games, however, Hearts of Iron has somewhat of a cruel learning curve that`s accentuated by pockets of boredom and frustration - and not all players will enjoy the real time nature of the title. As there`s no demo available, I can only recommend searching out previous Paradox games in bargain bins to get a feel for their pace. Because of this unconventional aspect, while it currently might be the only Panzer on the block, its chances of breathing new life into the genre are slim.

Publisher Strategy First and developer Paradox Entertainment - the team behind Europa Universalis II - on Wednesday shipped Hearts of Iron to retail stores in North America. Hearts of Iron is a strategy game covering the entire Second World War and offering an historically accurate rendering of that decade. Players can do battle on any front they choose and must use a combination of diplomacy and strategy as well as combat to win. Multiplayer support over a LAN and the Internet is included. Link
