AVault Review (5.0/5)^©: I studiously avoided all previous iterations of this franchise based on a complete disdain for the setting and concept itself. So far as I had thought, a virtual recreation of mundane life could not possibly hold my attention. No guns, no swords, how could it possibly be entertaining? The Sims 2 has made such a complete and utter convert of me that I’m quite tempted to go back and try out the originals. It has everything that I believe is integral to a classic success: It looks amazing, sounds fantastic, and offers more immersive entertainment and replay value than any other single-player game I’ve ever seen. The original was a draught of addictive fun for millions; the sequel not only maintains all the same qualities, but pushes the envelope with many new ideas of its own. Whether you’re a returning fan or a new convert, there’s something here for everyone.
